ENEAS - European Network of Excellence in AsteroSeismology

ENEAS Information

Welcome

Welcome to the ENEAS Web Site

ENEAS (European Network of Excellence in AsteroSeismology) was created on 11 October 2002 during a kick-off meeting held in Leuven (Belgium).

The purpose of ENEAS is to provide an efficient coordination between the numerous European initiatives in asteroseismology and to achieve an effective integration of all European expertise in this research domain through numerous exchanges of the ENEAS scientists. Another prime goal of ENEAS is to help European scientists with their interpretation of the huge databases of seismic data of stars delivered by space missions, such as CoRoT. To achieve this, software package tools for frequency analysis, mode identification and model comparison will be provided to the community, as well as outreach tools and lecture notes.

From 1/4/2006 until 31/3/2010, ENEAS is encapsulated in the Workpackage NA5: Asteroseismology, of the FP6 Coordination Action Helio- and Asteroseismology (HELAS) of the European Commission.
